Recipe to share

Jalapeno Jelly Recipe
{this was served at the 365 Swap}

I have to start off by saying that I got this recipe from my fun friend Sheryl {a 365 Swap girl} so many of you might have met her that night. Isn't it great to have friends that share! -p.s. this is a super yummy & easy recipe too-

7-8 Green Bell Peppers 3-4 Jalapeno Peppers 6 C. Sugar {use exact amount} 2 C. Vinegar 2-3 ounce pkgs. of Liquid Pectin {each pkg. contains 3 oz.} 3-4 drops of green food coloring Wash peppers, take out seeds {be sure to wear gloves} If I want it a little hotter I leave in 1 or 2 of the pepper seeds. Cut into pieces & blend in a blender with 1/2 of the Vinegar. In a 6-8 quart sauce pan combine 6 C. sugar & the remaining vinegar, and pepper mixture. Bring mixture to full rolling boil while stirring constantly. Boil hard for 10 min. {while stirring} Remove from hear stir in liquid pectin. Return to full boil & boil for 1 min. Remove from hear and add green food coloring. Skim off any scum & immediately fill jars in 1/4 inch from the top. Wipe off jar lids & screw lids firmly. Process 15 minutes in water bath.
So easy & delicious! I always like to make these in the Fall to give for Christmas gifts. Just wrap them up with a red ribbon & you're good to go. I also give them with a brick of cream cheese & a box of crackers so they can serve them right away if they want. Enjoy :)

Good Advice

Let me introduce you to Virginia Leitzell Garner. This is my Grandmother. She passed away many years ago but she was one amazing woman. She was very hard working, loved to laugh, was a devoted mother and wife and was always giving of her time and talents. I thought I would share some of her advice. She said, "If you are feeling down, take a hot bath, put on your make-up, bake a pie and take it to a friend!"

Finally!

8.24.10-
Oh, what a relief to have these done & in the mail on their way to my fabulous friends. Can't wait for you all to met them & I'm looking forward to meeting some fun new friends too myself.

Quote of the day- People seem to get nostalgic about a lot of things they weren't so crazy about the first time around.

Oh, so true, hope to see you all at the SWap!

I have seen the light :)

5.18.10-
{2 posts in one day!!}
Look how cute this light is, I may just have to make one for Macey's cool, new teenager, eclectic bedroom this summer. {If anyone sees any other ideas that could help me design a fun room for her send them my way! :) } I think she would love to make this herself, it would be a fun project. I think it would be cute with all sorts of different patterned material on it too, instead of just the white, what do you think?
Thanks,
{M}
*p.s. that's even the paint color I am thinking about painting her room. Nicole do me a favor & tell her it would be super cute! ;)

A delightful day!!

5.18.10-
What a wonderful lunch we had yesterday, we missed you Jenn, sitting out on the porch surrounded by chirping birds, climbing roses & wonderful friends. It was such a delightful day :) I enjoyed visiting with you both, sharing ideas & being inspired for 365 Odds & Ends. Can't wait to see every ones invitations. {post them on the blog so we can all see!}
Remember:
-Invite 10 of your favorite people {who LOVE anything useful, decorative & pretty things}
-Invites need to be out by June 1st
-Haley's yard on Wednesday August 18th from 6:00-8:00 {right?}
-tell your 10 guests to bring as many items as they would like all tagged with a little description, & that everything not swapped will be donated to charity.
- This will be so much fun!! I can't wait to taste Haley's delectable donuts & homemade oreo cookies! yummm
I think the thing I enjoyed most about yesterday was just visiting & not being worried about time. What about from now on when we met to plan on at least an hour & 1/2 to 2 hours. Try not to have something that you have to rush home for or somewhere to be too. What do you guys think? Anyway just a thought, I'm sure it will be harder to say than do especially with Summer coming up.
** Nicole I'm so HAPPY you decided to get your bag- can't wait to see it in 3-5 days :)
** Haley, thanks again for my Honey sign. I'll post a picture when I get it up.
** Jenn, can't wait to hear all about all the wedding stuff. The pictures on FB are darling!
NEXT MEETING- Monday, June 14th {flag day} at 11:00 a.m. Where, Any ideas?

Fun Little Find

I was so excited when I found little size 9 bowling shoes at one of my favorite consignment stores. It is called Urban Renewal, in St. George. If you are ever there, I highly recommend stopping in. My three year old is also delighted with this find. He think's the numbers on the back are pretty cool.
